Hace tiempo que administro un foro con bastantes visitas y que recibe toneladas de spam, el único MOD para phpBB que me a ayudado con esto es el Spam Words con el hack para Akismet que hizo EADZ.
Como era un poco retorcido eso de modificar la modificación y hasta que salga phpBB 3 (y por tanto deje de funcionar) o un MOD exclusivo del Akismet (lleva en desarrollo mucho tiempo) decidí integrar en un MOD todo y de paso integrarlo en el control de registros y en el panel de control, a la par que añadía algunos fixes que había en el foro oficial.
Información:
Que hace el MOD:
- Chequea cada nuevo mensaje que se envía contra Akismet (si se ha configurado una clave de API) y contra una lista de palabras tipicas, si se detecta spam o no se permite el envio o se permite pero se oculta el mensaje para que el admin lo borre o lo edite.
- Chequa cada nuevo registro (firma, web…) de la misma manera que lo anterior solo que esta vez nunca se permite el registro.
- Permite definir exclusiones para moderadores, admins y foros concretos.
- Permite banear al usuario si la falta es reiterada.
Que no hace el MOD:
- Controlar los privados.
- Añadir nuevas reglas o avisar a Akismet si pasa un mensaje con Spam.
- Avisar a Akismet de un falso positivo.
Como se instala:
- Opción A: Instalas antes el MOD EasyMod, subes los ficheros y en 5 clicks lo tienes hecho.
- Opción B: Sigues paso a paso las instrucciones que aparecen en el fichero INSTALL.mod
- Una vez acabado configurarlo a tu gusto desde el panel de administración (no olvides de introducir tu clave de la API de Akismet para que este funcione).
- Si lo deseas puedes importar una lista con 380 palabras que aportó un usuario del foro oficial.
- Si vas a usar la opción de ocultar los mensajes, sería interesante instalar el mod INSTALL_XTRA.mod que está en la carpeta “contrib” que evita que los mensajes ocultos aparezcan en busquedas, mensajes recientes o en la portada de un foro como ultimo mensaje.

- If you will be hiding spam messages maybe you will be interested in installing also INSTALL_XTRA.mod inside the folder “contrib” this hides spam post also in recent post, in search results and in the last post excerpt in the forum index.
