Due to the bad security policies implemented in Backlinks.com admin panel, a huge ammount of client data has been crawled by Google and it is accessible in the Google cache with a query like this:
http://www.google.es/search?hl=es&q=site%3Abacklinks.com%2Fadmin
This data includes links sold or buyed, incomes, referes, names, emails even the passwords of those clients.
I have contacted Backlinks.com and their response was that the know this and have made what it is needed to avoid any problem, that is, they have reseted passwords period. No warning for affected clients, so those who used the same password for different services have their password revealed to the public and don’t know they should change it.
Also you can see that Backlinks.com admin have access to your passwords, they stated by mail that know they are showing asterisc instead of password, as if it was impossible to retrieve the password from the html anyways or that storing passwords in clear text should be forbidden by law.
As the company does not want to publish this I want to reach a wide audience so every client of Backlinks.com know what has happened, so please post this in your blogs, tell your friends, etc.
Why the heck would anyone be silly enough to use this service anyway? LOL

You just got be pulling my chain? It’s a site clearly in blatant violation of the google and ALL search engines guidelines. Anyone using this deserves what they get. Period.
When will people learn anyway? What is there to understand about any of this?
I wonder if they were hacked? I agree that this is a blatant violation of the terms and conditions of google and would never use this myself either.
No they were not hackd, they jsut left the backend without password, stored the client passwords in clear-text and do show their client’s passwords to admins (now they told me it is hidden but still there).
And buying/selling text links it is not a violation of anything, first of all becouse to have your website you do not need to sign a contract with Google and secndly becouse buying/selling Ads are just the same as buying/selling text links.
Google do not like this practice, becouse it ruins the natural value of a link and they say it is a bad practice for building reputation but that’s all.
Yeah they shouldn’t even using this to begin with. Natural link growth is much healthier.
What the? Good thing I never tried it….
I haven’t used their service for profit but does anybody out there make profits of it? I can’t get any security issue information from google by the way
Does that mean that this problem is over now?
Yes you can earn money in Backlinks (but Text-Link-Ads pays better), and the data leaked was removed from Google cache a couple of days after the post, I don’t know if it was due to the complaint or more probably simply becouse it aged.
Why you don’t add my link to get more traffics????
Quality backlinks will put your site quickly on the map, providd.
